Safer Internet Day, 2023

The Internet Society, Nigeria Chapter joined the rest of the world to mark the Year 2023 Safer Internet Day (SID) on 7th of February, 2023

The physical event was done in partnership with Nigerian Communications Commission, Abuja; DNS Africa Media and Zee Tech Foundation , Jos, Plateau State. ISOC Nigeria was up and running with 415 Students on the Safer Internet Days.

Nigeria Metaverse Forum

February 8th, 2023

ISOC-NG was at the Nigeria Metaverse Policy Roadshow hosted by Meta Inc in Abuja, Nigeria. The Vice President of Internet Society, Nigeria Chapter, Engr. Kunle Olorundare and Mr. Benjamin Ikibah an ISOC-NG Working Group Co-Chair both attended the event representing the Chapter.

 

International Women’s Day

March 15th, 2023

Internet Society, Nigeria Chapter hosted a virtual event to celebrate women around the world and mark the 2023 International Women’s Day. The webinar was organized by women members of the Chapter, and the speakers were all women as well, same with the moderator of the webinar, The Program Secretary of ISOC NG, Chinwe Ogbuja.

 

Universal Acceptance Day Fireside Chat

March 28th, 2023

The Internet Society, Nigeria Chapter celebrated the Universal Acceptance Day on March 28, 2023 with a Fire Chat discussion. Opening Speech was done by Mr. Caleb Olumuyiwa Ogundele,  President of Internet Society, Nigeria Chapter. The Secretary General of the society, Mr. Akinbo Adebunmi Adeola moderated the session, and Mr. Kunle Olorundare, the Vice President was the discussant.

The online event was jointly organized and sponsored by ISOC NG and DNS Africa Media

Girls in ICT Day (Physical Collaboration)

The Internet Society, Nigeria Chapter collaborated with Zee Tech Foundation to celebrate the 2023 Girls in ICT Day. The event was a resounding triumph, thanks to Zee Tech Foundation for its remarkable dedication to the success story. This Internet Society, Nigeria Chapter collaborative initiative to mark the 2023 Girl in ICT Day Celebration was an hybrid event that was physically hosted in Plateau State, Nigeria.

Discussants of the hybrid event were Engr. Kunle Olorundare from ISOC NG; Chinwe Ogbuja from ISOC NG and Messenger of Hope Foundation; Igba Priscila , ISOC-NG etc.

Zee Tech Foundation was a major partner on this project

The Internet Society, Nigeria Chapter Executive had an engagement with Corp Members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Abuja. the engagement was coordinated by the Vice President of the Chapter, Engr. Kunle Olorundare. During the session, the Corp Members were  introduced the ISOC Online Learning platform.

DigitalSense Forum, 2023

The Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum series organized by ITREALMS Media and hosted under DigitalSENSE Africa (DSA), an At-Large Structure certified by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), in collaboration with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Galaxy Backbone Plc.
