Call To Join ISOCNG Working Group

In line with our commitment to inclusiveness, ISOC Nigeria Chapter Leadership is creating Working Groups (WG) for the chapter to work on solutions and position papers for global and local issues as they relate to the Internet ecosystem and everyday life.

The Working Groups will also serve as avenues to provide capacity building for existing and new members. This enable members participate in the discussions and processes that seek to achieve an open and secured Internet that is accessible to all.

Kindly find below suggested list of Working Groups:

WG 1. Infrastructure, Security and Community Networks:
Related to Development and Security of Communication infrastructure and Community Networking.

WG 2: Protocols and Standards:
Related to Development and adoption of Internet Protocols and Standards.

WG 3. Policy and Governance:
Related to Engagement of stakeholders and Development of materials for education and orientation on key Internet policy and governance areas.

WG 4. Innovation and Incubation:
Related to Development of Businesses, Services and Applications for education, health, agriculture, and other areas of everyday life.

WG 5. Stakeholder Engagement and Member Development:
Related to Engagement of stakeholders and Development of materials for education and orientation on use and benefits of the internet. Also includes raising awareness of Internet Society tools and Materials to enhance knowledge and exposure to opportunities.

Members with subject-matter experience are encouraged to play active roles in working groups covering their areas of expertise.
Members in media-related Organizations are also encouraged to play observer roles in as many working groups as possible.
Members may belong to multiple working groups but may not chair more than one group.
