The Nigeria School on Internet Governance (NSIG) held on September 11-13, 2023 in Abuja, Nigeria brought together people from all sectors of the Nigerian internet community to learn about internet governance.
The theme of the 2023 NSIG was “The African Union’s Data Policy Framework.”, and it covered a wide range of topics related to internet governance, including:
- The history and evolution of Internet Governance
- The different stakeholders involved in Internet Governance
- The key challenges and opportunities facing Internet Governance in Nigeria and Africa
- The African Union’s Data Policy Framework
The school attracted over 200 participants from a variety of backgrounds, including government, business, academia, civil society, and the technical community. 40 participants were approved for the Fellowship school. The school was hosted in the premises of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC’s) Annex Office at Mbora, in the capital of Nigeria. The events provided a valuable opportunity for participants to learn about internet governance, network with each other, and share their ideas and perspectives.
